Evy was born in Adelaide, South Australia. During her school years, she loved making things and drawing was a favourite pastime. Her interest in the human condition, however, led her to completing a Bachelor degree in Psychology with Honours and then working as a registered Psychologist and Hypnotherapist, initially in the public service and then in private practice. After her second son started school, she decided to rekindle her love of art-making and enrolled in a short course at Adelaide Central School of Art and then in the BVA award program. Her third child came along in 2009 and Evy deferred her studies for a few years to work and travel with her family. After graduating in 2017 from ACSA, Evy has continued a varied practice including textiles, painting, public art and running children's workshops.

She currently practices as a studio member of the artist run initiative, Collective Haunt Inc, Norwood.
